Major restaurant chains in Japan are enhancing recruiting efforts in order to secure part-time workers.
McDonald’s Japan released an animated short film online with the aim of attracting college freshmen to work for them.
The academic year in Japan starts in April and ends in March. During this season, stores have to find new workers to fill vacancies left by graduating students.
The animated film features a story about young people maturing through their work at McDonald’s.
Voices for the characters were provided by 8 members of the pop music group AKB48.
It is the first time for the company to use an animated film for recruiting. Yasunari Miyazawa, who is in charge of human resources, said that recruiting gets tougher every year and innovative measures are needed.
