Knives, ropes found in suspect’s apartment in Kanagawa
Police say they have found knives and ropes in the apartment in Zama City, near Tokyo, where the body parts of 9 people were discovered.
Takahiro Shiraishi, who lived in the apartment, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of abandoning a corpse.
Police say the 27-year-old suspect told them he killed the 9 people after moving to the apartment in late August.
They say they found ropes and restraints. They suspect Shiraishi may have used them to restrain the victims.
They also discovered kitchen knives, a saw, and a pair of scissors with traces of a substance that appears to be blood.
