South Korean intelligence officials say North Korea has relocated military aircraft to the east of the country as a possible sign of increased vigilance.

The aircraft move follows a heated exchange between US President Donald Trump and North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho.

Trump tweeted on Saturday that if Ri echoes thoughts of “Little Rocket Man”, Kim Jong Un’s leadership “won’t be around much longer.”

Ri countered that Trump’s comment was a clear declaration of war and said Pyongyang has the right to shoot down US warplanes even when they are not in his country’s airspace.

Earlier on Saturday, US troops flew warplanes including B1 bombers in international airspace over waters to the east of North Korea.

South Korea’s National Intelligence Service briefed the national assembly’s intelligence committee about this in a closed session on Tuesday.

A legislator who attended said North Korea relocated its aircraft after the Pentagon announced the flights.

But the legislator said North Korean forces did not respond to the bombers and therefore may not have accurately captured them on radar.
