Mountain climber killed in Toyama avalanche

A mountain climber was killed after being hit by an avalanche in Japan’s Toyama Prefecture on Tuesday. Police say the avalanche occurred at around 8:30 AM in the Tateyama mountain range at an altitude of 2,500 meters. It hit 3 climbers out of a party of 6, all of whom were male members of a climbing club at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
