Japan: All tsunami advisories now lifted

Japan’s Meteorological Agency has lifted all tsunami advisories in northeastern and eastern prefectures that were put in place after a powerful earthquake. A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at around 6 AM on Tuesday. The Meteorological Agency issued a tsunami warning for the coast of Fukushima and Miyagi Prefectures and advisories for other prefectures along the Pacific Ocean. Some residents of coastal areas evacuated to higher ground. A series of tsunami reached wide areas, including one measuring 1.4 meters at Sendai Port in Miyagi.
