Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy after a stabbing incident left three persons injured at a high school in Chiyoda Ward, reports TBS News (Oct. 17).
At around 12:20 p.m. on Monday, the boy, a first-year student at Gyosei High School, allegedly stabbed a male classmate, 16, in the right shoulder with a folding knife during a self-student session inside a classroom after a quarrel broke out.
He later slashed another male classmate, 16, and a 49-year-old male teacher after they attempted to restrain him.
The three victims were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police subsequently charged the boy with inflicting injury. “Due to teasing I flew into a rage and stabbed them,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to TV Asahi (Oct. 18).
When the suspect was a third-year middle school, both of his parents consulted with the school on three occasions about problems related to coexisting other students.
