Japan: Tropical storm moving north

Typhoon Namtheun, which has been downgraded to a tropical storm, is moving north over the Sea of Japan after making landfall in Nagasaki Prefecture early Monday morning. The Japan Meteorological Agency says the tropical storm hit the northern part of Kyushu island before moving out to sea. The agency says the storm has left moisture-laden air over wide areas of western Japan, and it warns of sporadic heavy rainfall. Kyushu was hit by heavy rain early Monday but it is now tapering off. Weather officials warn of possible landslides in some areas of Kumamoto Prefecture. Source: NHK Image: ANN Share this:TweetEmail
