A partially skeletonized female body was discovered on the bank of the Arakawa River on Sunday, police said Monday.
According to police, the body was found at around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday by a father and child who had gone catching grasshoppers near the river, Fuji TV reported. The body is presumed to belong to an adult female, with a height of 167 cm.
She was wearing a red and white sweater and pants, but had no shoes on, police said.
The body was partially skeletonized in the head and legs, and was beginning to decompose, investigators said. Police are currently trying to identify the body.
