Teenage girls were standing in front of suspect on ascending escalators.
An off-duty senior police officer was arrested on Monday after he was caught taking illicit footage of two teenage high school girls.
Takehito Fukuda, 25, a senior officer of the Chiba Chuo Police Station, was arrested and charged with voyeurism under the nuisance prevention act after he was caught using a smartphone to take “upskirt” footage — known as tosatsu — of two high school girls, aged 17 and 18, near JR Tsudanuma Station, Narashino City, the Sankei Shimbun reports (June 6).
Fukuda admitted to the charges that he used his smartphone at around 4:40 p.m. to film upskirt footage of the two high school girls, who were standing in front of him on ascending escalators.
A railway police officer on patrol spotted Fukuda capturing the upskirt footage and arrested him on the spot.
According to Jiji Press, Fukuda was off-duty when he was caught in the act.
Fukuda was stationed as part of patrol units at the regional police division.
