Human body parts including a head and a foot were found in a park pond in Tokyo on Thursday.
According to police, a visitor to the park noticed a body part floating in the pond at Himonya Park in Meguro Ward at around 10:30 a.m., Fuji TV reported. He notified police at a nearby koban.
Police said they found a right foot, a head and some other body parts. Officials said the body parts had become almost skeletonized and that the age and sex of the victim were difficult to determine. They also could not determine how long the body parts had been in the water.
The park is in a residential area about 400 meters from Gakugei Daigaku station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. The pond is about one meter deep.
