Duterte wants stop to long queues for passports

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he has ordered incoming Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. to eliminate the long queues of people applying for passports in DFA offices. Speaking at a flag-raising ceremony in Davao City, Duterte said the DFA should give a list of requirements to passport applicants. “Once complied with, do not ask for more or less…You go to the computer and you make a projection,” he said. He said he feels compassion for people who come from afar and sleep on the pavement while waiting for their passports.
