Japan defense vessels make port call in Philippines

Three vessels including a submarine belonging to Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force on Sunday made a port call at Subic Bay in the Philippines’ main island of Luzon. The Oyashio-class submarine left Japan together with two guided missile destroyers, Ariake and Setogiri, last month on a voyage aimed at training MSDF officers and fostering goodwill with the Philippines.
