Nagano: Man arrested for killing wife with hammer

Police in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture, said Monday they have arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of killing his wife by beating her with a hammer. According to police, Masaya Matsuda turned up at a police station at around 12:10 a.m. Monday and said he had killed his 34-year-old wife Naomi at their home, Fuji TV reported. Police went to the home and found the woman’s body under the floorboards. Matsuda was quoted by police as saying he killed his wife by hitting her head with a hammer at around 4 p.m. Sunday.
