Fukuoka: Man attacks 2 women with ax in real estate office

Two women are being treated in a hospital for serious injuries after being struck in the head by an ax-wielding assailant on Monday. Fukuoka Prefectural Police have arrested a 56-year-old man after he is alleged to have seriously injured two women in an attack inside a real estate office in Fukuoka City, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 29). At around noon on Monday, Keiji Nishimura entered the office, located in the Wajirogaoka area of Higashi Ward, and struck one woman, 35, on the back of the head with an ax. He then hit the forehead of another female employee, 32, with the same weapon. Police later arriving at the scene took Nishimura into custody on charges of attempted murder. Both women are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital for wounds considered serious.
