Officials in Japan say they believe cyber attackers are responsible for problems accessing several government websites since Sunday.
They say the websites of the Finance and Health, Labor and Welfare ministries and Financial Services Agency all suffered intermittent disruptions.
Finance Ministry officials have had problems accessing their site since late Sunday night.
Access to the health ministry site was disrupted for about 90 minutes on Sunday night.
Officials say the sites were inundated with traffic, but there was no major interference with the agencies’ operations.
The officials say comments on Twitter suggest hacking group Anonymous was targeting the Finance Ministry and other sites.
The websites of the National Police Agency and Narita and Haneda international airports suffered similar problems last month.
