Woman found dead in river in Hyogo

Police in Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture, said the body of a woman found on a sandbar in the Kakogawa River on Dec 12 has been identified as that of Mashiro Oyama, a 20-year-old part-time employee who lived in Fukita City, Osaka Prefecture. Police said Oyama had been bludgeoned to death before being dumped in the river and that her head had at least 10 wounds, Fuji TV reported. Police said an autopsy revealed she had died around Dec 10. Oyama, who is from Okayama Prefecture, graduated from a vocational school in Kobe last April. At the time of her disappearance, she was currently working as a part-time employee and attending a voice actor academy.
