Fans of John Lennon gathered in New York on Tuesday to mark the 35th anniversary of his death. The former Beatle was shot dead by an obsessive fan in front of his home near Central Park on December 8th 1980. He was 40 years old. Fans from around the world converged at Strawberry Fields, a square in Central Park, to remember Lennon and his message of peace. They placed flowers and photos and sang “Imagine” and “Happy Xmas “.
