Immigration Agency suspends acceptance of application for renewal of residency for 1 month

Based on the spread of the new coronavirus, the Immigration Service has issued a suspension of application procedure for the renewal of the period of stay or change the status of residency for foreigners whose expiration date is due in March. They have announced that there will be a grace period of 1 month.

Originally, it is necessary to apply before the expiration date, but the immigration official wants to reduce the risk of infection by dispersing applications. According to the Immigration Agency, there are more than 1,000 applications a day depending on the window.
