The Kariya Highway Oasis complex in Aichi offers more than just a rest stop for Japanese expressway travelers. It entered second in the ranking of the most visited points of the Tokai region .

What differentiate it from other rest stops are the cafes and restaurants in the food court. There are 16 options for people to choose from not only for a cup of coffee, an ice cream but also for those who wants to have lunch or a snack. The business hours are from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm with the last order at 9:30 p.m.

For those who wants to purchase  fresh produce and souvenirs, the Central Plaza GF is a grocery store with vegetables and fruits direct from the local producers. So if you like fresh greens and fruits it is worth visiting.

For those who do not have fresh fish at their table, the tip is to visit Osakana Kobo. The grocery store run from 9am to 7pm.

The male and female toilets at this location are luxurious to the point that they have been highlighted by the media when the complex was inaugurated.

Cheapest kids entertainment

Iwagaike Park has access to both the Wangan Expressway and the normal highway. It is much sought after by families with young children because admission is free .

One of the toys that are free use is a complex full of devices that the kids love to climb and discover new paths. Another is a fountain where tge kids can play with water. This is open until 6pm in June, July and August.

Another free is the area where there is a slide, Tarzan cipó and athletic activities, in addition to others with swings, smaller slides and area with synthetic grass.

The steam train called Kamo-Kamo Poppo holds up to 18 people and takes a ride on the 208-meter rails in 3 and a half minutes. It costs ¥ 100 but children from 0 to 2 years old must be accompanied by an adult,

It also costs ¥ 100 to play pilot on the toy that has airplane thumbnails and circulates, as well as on the carousel or to take a kart tour.

The ones that cost ¥ 50 are the battery carts, strollers and mini-shinkansen.

They run from 9am to 5pm, from March to October, and from 9am to 4pm from November to February. The clearance is always on the 15th. It has toys up to 6 years old and others up to 12.
