North Korea has denounced Japan and the United States for taking the initiative in the adoption of a new UN Security Council sanctions resolution against Pyongyang for its recent nuclear test.
The country’s Asia-Pacific Peace Committee on Wednesday released a statement condemning the UN resolution that was adopted on Monday.
The statement pledges to settle the score with the United States by all possible means. It condemns Japan, which it says has yet to come to its senses despite the ballistic missile that flew over the nation.
The statement stresses that North Korea remains committed to accelerating its nuclear and missile programs, saying it only believes in having a nuclear deterrent for self-defense.
On Wednesday, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement rejecting the UNSC resolution.
