Summer temperatures have pushed up demand for icy treats in Osaka.
A fruit shop that serves bowls of shaved ice flavored with homemade syrup says sales are up this month, with more than 200 bowls sold on some days.

A 38-year-old woman said she’d been waiting for this season, when shaved ice tastes delicious.
Shop owner Tadakatsu Yamaguchi said he’s grateful for the hot weather, and that he hopes his shaved ice will help customers beat the heat.
