A sushi restaurant chain has apologized for serving too much wasabi, or Japanese horseradish, to foreigners at one of its outlets. Ichibazushi Japan Corporation acknowledged on its website that the outlet in Osaka had been serving sushi with far larger amounts of wasabi than usual for over a year. (Image: Reproduction/NHK) The apology came after a tourist who appeared to be South Korean posted on the Internet a photo showing the amount of wasabi served with the sushi. Others alleged that this amounted to harassment and discrimination. The restaurant staff denied the allegations and explained that they began to serve increased amounts of wasabi because many foreign guests requested it. The operator of the chain apologized for the trouble and said it would improve employee education. Source and image: NHK Share this:TweetEmail
