Deer have been summoned from the woods in a ceremony at a park in Japan’s ancient capital of Nara.
The deer calls started more than 100 years ago as a tourist attraction.
About 80 deer appeared from the forest on Sunday after hearing a ceremonial horn.
They were treated to acorns by the members of a local foundation that was set up to protect the deer.
Tourists took pictures and fed the animals.
The deer calls will be held on weekends and national holidays through August.
