Japanese police are renewing their call for people not to play the hugely popular smartphone game Pokémon Go while driving a car or riding a bicycle.
The National Police Agency is making the appeal after drivers and cyclists have caused 36 accidents since the game debuted in Japan last Friday. Four of them resulted in injuries.
The agency also says police officers have examined 71 cases across Japan for people using their smartphones while on a bicycle or driving a car.
Other than accidents, police arrested a man on suspicion of assaulting a woman who was playing Pokémon Go in central Tokyo on Saturday. Investigators say the man mistakenly thought the woman was taking his photo.
A female university student, who was playing the game while riding a bicycle, had her bag snatched in Nagoya, central Japan, on Sunday.
