Cherry blossoms light up Nagatoro mountain path

Visitors to the town of Nagatoro, north of Tokyo, are enjoying the annual cherry blossom illuminations at the foot of a local mountain.500 cherry trees from about 30 different species line the winding track on Mount Hodo. The blossoms belong to double-flowered cherry trees that reach full bloom at about this time of year. The town lights up the blooming trees each year, so visitors can enjoy the beautiful flowers both night and day.Many people strolled along the mountain track on Tuesday evening to enjoy the fantastic view of a tunnel of pink blossom.One visitor from Tokyo said he was lost for words at the beautiful sight, which lifted his spirits.The annual blossom illumination will continue until Sunday.   Source and image: NHK Share this:TweetEmail
