Kyoto Prefectural Police have arrested a 26-year-old employee at a health food company after a spy camera was found mounted under the desk of a female colleague, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Feb. 29).
The suspect allegedly used tape to attach the camera, measuring nine centimeters by five centimeters, under the desk such that it took footage inside the skirt of the woman, who is aged in her 20s. The exterior of the camera is shaped so that it looks like a hook for clothing.
An examination of the camera’s memory card revealed 11 clips, each approximately one minute in length.
The suspect, who has been charged with violating a metropolitan ordinance that prohibits causing a public nuisance, admits to the allegations. “In the past, I did it (with the same camera) several times,” he is quoted by officers from the Shimogyo Police Station.
On the morning of February 6, the matter camera to light after the camera dropped from its mounting onto the feet of the woman.
The suspect purchased the camera, which includes a motion-activated shutter, in May of last year.
