Woman suspected of mutilating corpse of acquaintance in Osaka

A 29-year-old woman suspected of mutilating and abandoning the corpse of a younger acquaintance at her home here was arrested on Dec. 29, police said.  “There is a skull in my room, but I don’t want to say anything now,” Terumi Morishima, a self-described illustrator, was quoted as telling officers at Kadoma Police Station. The corpse is believed to be that of a 25-year-old woman and acquaintance of Morishima’s who lived in Kadoma. Police said a skull, among other parts, was found at Morishima’s home. There was reportedly evidence that Morishima had withdrawn money from the woman’s account. Police are trying to identify the woman who died. They suspect Morishima has information relating to her death.
